Hospital Laboratory Manager
Job Description/Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight:
Manage the daily operations of the laboratory, including scheduling, workflow optimization, and resource allocation.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of patient samples and diagnostic tests.
Staff Supervision and Development:
Train, supervise, and evaluate laboratory staff.
Foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
Ensure ongoing education and professional development of lab personnel.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy of test results.
Prepare for and coordinate inspections and audits.
Inventory and Budget Management:
Manage laboratory supplies, equipment maintenance, and procurement.
Develop and oversee the lab budget, including cost control and financial target.
Safety and Risk Management:
Enforce safety protocols and standard operating procedures to minimize risk and ensure a safe working environment.
Investigate and report incidents or accidents within the laboratory.
Collaboration and Communication:
Serve as a liaison between the lab and other hospital departments.
Report lab performance and issues to hospital administration and the medical director.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory, including supervisory experience.
In-depth knowledge of laboratory best practices, compliance standards, and medical technology.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
