What does the job involve
Establish relationships with suppliers of original spare parts and consumables for passenger vehicles, keke’s, bikes, vans, buses, light and heavy duty trucks
Work with sellers to achieve great pricing to attract more buyers on the marketplace
Lead the development and execution of our world-class supply chain operation ranging from procurement, pricing, staging area operation and last mile logistics and fleet management operations
Collaborate with operations, business development and sales to provide leadership and strategic direction as it relates to supplier selection, qualification, negotiations, contracting commercialization, and life cycle management in line with global our strategic sourcing initiatives.
Develop accurate and data-based supply/demand forecasting, to enable capacity planning, inventory target setting, and performance reporting.
Monitor key trends, market factors, cost drivers, and strategic importance of targeted products in order to implement appropriate Supply Chain strategies.
Manage relevant Supply Chain KPIs including backorders, out of stock (OOS), potential out of stocks (POOS), inventory loss, and reject levels, returns, take rates, sourcing and delivering times.
Identify and evaluate operational risks such as supply, quality (including part authenticity), safety, environment, security, and regulatory compliance.
Develop staging area strategy for us and lead sourcing and procurement of staging area space
Build out a logistics team and recruit talented and trusted drivers.
Negotiate competitive rates for 3PL drivers to drive cost efficiency
Have knowledge on fleet management and maintenance
Validate the services and activities related to warehouse operations and distribution both long haul and last mile.
Complete other duties as requested by leadership as the company evolves
Qualifications
Minimum 10+ years experience working in supply chain, including experience at growth stage retail distribution startups like Sabi, Wasoko, trade depot or big multinationals like Coca-cola, Unilever, Dangote, DHL, UPS, P&G, Tata, Amazon and Danone amongst others.
Experience negotiating distribution partnerships and pricing with local and global distributors and manufacturers
Masters degree in operations or Supply Chain Management
Well networked within Corporate Ghana with the ability to close high level distribution contracts
Experience with imports/exports of auto parts or other goods
Excellent communication and negotiation skills to influence stakeholders at all different levels. Must have executive presence
Experience in SAP/ ERP/ESp/APO/ECC systems
Street smart and resourceful
Superior problem solving skills
Excellent communicator (verbal, text, email)
