SALES EXECUTIVE – FMCG COMPANY

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Office

LOCATION: Spintex – Accra, Ghana


REPORTS DIRECTLY TO:

Sales Supervisor / Sales Manager


JOB PURPOSE:

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Sales Executive with 3-4 years of relevant experience in the FMCG wholesale market. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with wholesalers and distributors, achieving sales targets, and ensuring the effective execution of trade marketing activities within the assigned territory.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Technical/Operations duties

  • Develop and manage wholesale accounts and distribution partners.

  • Achieve monthly and quarterly sales volume and value targets.

  • Expand market share by identifying and onboarding new wholesale partners.

  • Ensure regular order booking, stock rotation, and timely collection of payments.

  • Execute product launches, trade promotions, and schemes effectively in the wholesale channel.

  • Analyze territory performance, competitor activities, and market trends.

  • Coordinate with supply chain and logistics to ensure product availability.

  • Submit timely reports (sales, market feedback, competitor activity).

  • General duties  Any other duties assigned

KEY PERFORMANCE MEASURES

  • Sales Target Achievement – 80% of monthly/quarterly sales targets met.

  • New Wholesale Account Activation – Number of new distributors/wholesalers added.

  • Order Frequency & Billing Value – Number of orders and total billing per account.

  • Territory Coverage – 8% of effective coverage in assigned geography.

  • Collection Efficiency – On-time payment collection ratio.

  • Stock Availability – Distributor stock health and availability ratio.

  • Execution of Promotions – 90% of trade promotions executed as planned.

  • Market Feedback Reporting – Accuracy and timeliness of reports shared.

• Channel Knowledge: Deep understanding of FMCG wholesale and general trade dynamics.

• Negotiation Skills: Ability to close deals and manage pricing discussions effectively.

• Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong rapport with wholesalers and key accounts.

• Result Orientation: Focused on achieving targets and driving measurable outcomes.

• Territory Planning: Efficient route and beat planning to maximize coverage and productivity.

• Problem Solving: Proactively address field-level challenges (stock-outs, competition, pricing issues).

• Communication Skills: Clear and persuasive communication with internal and external stakeholders.

• Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze sales data and take informed decisions.


Qualifications and skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.

• 3-4 years of sales experience, preferably in appliances or related products.

• Proven ability to meet sales targets.

• Experience in customer engagement and product demonstrations.

• Knowledge of the FMCG industry is an advantage.

• Good interpersonal and negotiation skills.

• Basic knowledge of CRM systems.
