Job Summary
A financial technology company dedicated to revolutionizing digital payments across Africa is seeking a visionary and highly skilled Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technology strategy and drive innovation in digital payments across Africa. The CTO will be responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of the company, ensuring our payment infrastructure is secure, scalable, and aligned with business objectives. This role requires a leader who can build and manage high-performing tech teams while driving strategic growth.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute the company’s technology strategy to align with business goals.
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Soft Spark’s cloud- native financial technology platform, ensuring high availability, security, and compliance.
Oversee the implementation of API-driven integrations with banks, mobile money providers, and third-party services.
Ensure robust cybersecurity measures, fraud detection systems, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
Manage the technology budget, optimizing investments in infrastructure and software development.
Lead and mentor the engineering, IT, and product development teams.
Stay updated on emerging fintech trends and innovations to maintain the company's competitive edge.
Represent the company in technical discussions with stakeholders, partners, and regulators.
Collaborate with other senior leaders to define product roadmaps and prioritize technology investments.
Actively participate in software development, writing and reviewing code to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Lead by example, demonstrating strong coding practices and technical expertise.
Contribute to the architecture and design of key system components.
Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
Qualifications & Requirements:
5+ proven experience as a CTO or senior technology executive in a fintech or financial services company.
Expertise in cloud computing, microservices architecture, API development, and cybersecurity.
Strong leadership and team-building skills.
Experience working with payment systems, mobile money platforms, and regulatory compliance in Africa.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
