Job Summary

The Geology Manager will be responsible for gridding, geochemistry, trenching, pitting, geological and regolith mapping, drilling, logging and project planning, budgeting and supervision of geological team.

  • Minimum Qualification : Degree

  • Experience Level : Mid level

  • Experience Length : 5 years


Job Description/Requirements

Job Responsibilities

  • In charge of all geological and exploration activities

  • Lead the Geology team to deliver safe and productive outcomes in-line with agreed plans, operating standards, legal requirements and data analytics which will help to ensure the realization life of asset plan and advancement of future mining,

  • Oversee consistent application of Safety & Health principles in all discipline interactions and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.

  • Operational Planning, which includes rock characterization, interpretation and modelling.

  • Create a purpose-led, high-performing culture, and legislative, regulatory, permitting and Company compliance of the Geology discipline

  • Conceptualizing and generating exploration targets. Planning, coordinating, and managing drilling programs.

  • Training and mentoring of exploration team members. Responsible for safety and quality control during drilling campaigns.

  • Coordinating and controlling of Mining and Grade Control activities of projects.

  • Training and supervising geologists and surveyors.

 

Education & Experience

Minimum of 10 years working experience with at least 2 years senior management experience

  • Ability to analyze and interpret geological models and concept and their application to exploration.

  • Supervisory skills – qualities to train and manage geologists in field mapping, logging, sampling and general geology

  • Able to plan, monitor, evaluate achievements and prioritise tasks.

  • Use of GIS-MapInfo Software for evaluating resource

  • Use of Surpac Software for drill sections

  • Good communication and a strong Report Writing Skills

  • A Bachelor's degree in geology

  • Certificate of competency from Ghana Institution of Geoscientists
