The Head of Procurement is a key post within the Assembly Commission, having full responsibility for developing and implementing procurement policies and procedures across the organisation, influencing strategic decisions and taking overall responsibility for the procurement of high value and high risk goods and services

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities
Lead in the development of a procurement plan and strategy for the Institute.
Undertake initial negotiation of supplier and vendor agreements.
Manage all supplier and vendor contracts.
Review and approve all items prior to purchase.
Develop Procurement policies and procedures for the Institute
Lead the procurement team by setting yearly objectives and monitoring them.
Negotiate effective contracts with suppliers by adhering to the policies and procedures.
Create and Manage relationships with Suppliers.
Establish an effective mechanism to ensure that stock are replenished.
Source for competitive quotations for price, quality and delivery conditions
Confirm orders with suppliers follow up deliveries and liaise with accounts office to ensure suppliers are paid promptly.
Seek approval from relevant departments and authorities to commit the company to the transaction.
Submit periodic reports to the Head of Finance/President.
Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time.
Qualifications and Experience:
The ideal Candidate must possess:
A Masters’ Degree in Procurement or related field.
Ten (10) years’ relevant experience a minimum of five (5) years in a managerial role.
