Role Description
As the Product & Partnerships Manager, your primary responsibility is to build the right product, support the business to sell and to execute strategic projects that involve partners such as banks, payment service providers, fintech, local regulating bodies, venture capital firms and more. You will also provide the product vision, go to market strategy and leadership for the other teams involved in developing, supporting, marketing, and selling the product.
• To succeed in this role, you must be a product-minded business development leader with excellent people management skills.
• You must be empathic enough to care about how your work affects our merchants, their customers, and the rest of the company.
• You must actively enjoy figuring out solutions where there is no playbook, thrive while working under minimal supervision, and adaptable enough to take on new functions as the need arises.

This is a full-time role based in the iPay’s Office in Accra, Ghana and you’ll report directly to the Head of Business Operations or his/her designate.
Main Duties:
• You will serve as a project manager and liaison between the Sales , the Engineering , Customer Success teams and partners.
• Execute strategic projects and partnerships that involve partners such as banks, payment service providers, fintech, local regulating bodies and more.
• Develop new partnerships to support additional customer and business solutions.
• Support internal teams by serving as a domain expert and act as a liaison between the company and product partners.
• Represent the company in high value negotiations as well as industry events
• Define, Own, and Translate the business strategy into product strategy and product roadmap.
• Execute and drive progress across product initiatives by removing blockers from the team to drive overall profitability for the business.
• Draw out feedback or insights from our users on their experience with using our existing products and to understand consumer behavior and inform product design.
• Translate insights and product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes.
• Work closely and motivate the engineering team to deliver with quick time-to-market and optimal resources.
• Manage all projects and ensure projects are ready to be launched timely, within scope and budget.
• Lead the entire product marketing strategy working closely with cross-functional
• teams— sales, design, customer success, and marketing —to acquire, engage, and retain customers across all segments.
• Oversee the launch of new products or compelling customer offering, and our entry into new markets.
• Monitor and communicate updates on product priorities to internal and external stakeholders.
• Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, keeping a pulse on the competitive landscape to inform our go-to-market strategy, and to identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth
• Manage product profitability and commercial success of all in-life products – own the business case.
You are a perfect fit for this role if have:
• Proven work experience in building and managing technology products at scale.
• Proven background in negotiating deals
• Strong product instinct and ability to identify opportunities to leverage partners’ existing and in-development products, as well as the ability to collaborate with internal teams to build world-class features for our users
• Strong collaboration and relationship building skills. Ability to influence senior stakeholders across organizations and borders.
• Ability to prioritize competing demands while working on complex problems
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive towards an optimal outcome
• Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies.
• Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done.
• Clear and empathetic master communicator able to articulate ideas compellingly, both in written and verbally.
• Enjoy digging into the numbers to glean quantitative insight to guide your decisions.
• BSc. degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred
While this is NOT strictly required, it would be a plus if you:
• Have previous experience in the banking, telecommunications or payments industry.
