Motel Manager

Job Summary

The Motel Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of motel operations, including guest services, housekeeping, maintenance, and administration. The manager ensures an excellent guest experience by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, customer service, and operational efficiency. They oversee the motel's budget, coordinate staff schedules, and implement strategies to increase occupancy and profitability.

Job Description/Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Services:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to guests, addressing inquiries, complaints, and requests in a timely and professional manner.

  • Handle check-in and check-out processes and ensure accuracy in billing and reservations.

  • Resolve guest issues and complaints to enhance satisfaction and foster repeat business.


Marketing and Promotions:

  • Develop and execute local marketing strategies to attract new guests.

  • Manage online reputation by responding to reviews and maintaining high ratings on booking sites.


Staff Management:

  • Train, and supervise motel staff, including front desk clerks, housekeeping, and maintenance teams.

  • Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure proper coverage and efficiency.

  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members to improve service quality and operational efficiency.


Maintenance & Housekeeping:

  • Ensure that the motel is well-maintained, safe, and clean, with high standards of room presentation and public area upkeep.

  • Oversee preventive maintenance and coordinate with maintenance staff or contractors for repairs.

  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and toiletries, ensuring all rooms are stocked and ready for guests.


Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and legal regulations, including fire codes, sanitation, and occupational health standards.

  • Implement security measures to protect guests, staff, and property.


Qualifications:

  • HND/ Degree (Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management is a plus)

  • Previous experience in hotel or motel management, preferably in a supervisory role.

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in property management software and basic computer skills.

  • Ability to handle challenging situations, work flexible hours, and adapt to a dynamic work environment.
