Field Officer(Onsite)

Job Summary

The Field Officer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and reporting on field activities to ensure effective delivery of programs and services. This role involves coordinating with community stakeholders, collecting and analyzing data from the field, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements, and providing regular feedback to management. The Field Officer serves as the key link between the organization and target communities, ensuring that all operations are carried out efficiently, ethically, and in line with established policies and objectives.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

Shipping

  • Ensure the proper and accurate payment of all duties for clients

  • Ensure that invoices are paid either through the bank or the shipping line

  • Work on the timely release of containers to terminals

  • Work on containers at the terminals( Agencies, FDA, and Chemists)

  • Work with examination officers at the terminals to inspect the containers, ensuring that what is listed on paper corresponds with what is in the containers.

  • Get the container(s) released from the assigned terminal


Air Cargo

  •  Responsible for the same processes as stated above for shipping, except in this case for air cargo.

  • Work on the timely release of containers from Aviance and Swissport terminals

  • Work with DHL, FedEx, UPS, and T&T


Exemptions & Permits

  • Work on ensuring that permits from:

  • Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)

  • Provisional import permit

  • Registration documents

  • Send a debit note to Ghana Rubber, collect settlement.

  • Ensures that the letter prepared by ICUMS teams for the Ministry of Food & Agriculture (MOFA) is sent and received by MOFA

  • Follow up and track until the Minister's minutes on the letter

  • Ensures that the Plant Protection & Regulatory Services Directorate (PPRSD) receives the letter from the minister for processing

  • Follow up with PPRSD for processing of letter and documents, and ensure its safe return to MOFA, for the exemption letter to be processed.

  • Any other duties as assigned by management

  • Any other duties that may be assigned by management and the CEO


Requirements

Education

  • HND or a Degree in logistics, procurement, shipping management, transport management, or business administration

  • 2-3 years’ work and industry experience

Personality

  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and expectations while balancing the needs of different teams and stakeholders

  • Must have strong math and critical reasoning skills

  • Must be able to keep up with new trends and learn new skills and tools

  • Must have excellent communication skills

  • Must be driven, detailed, and accurate

  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Must have a client service orientation

  • Must be able to travel when needed

  • Must be of high integrity and must have the ability to communicate with diverse personalities

  • Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
