Reinsurance Officer(Onsite)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic Reinsurance Officer who will be responsible for managing the reinsurance process by coordinating the placement and administration of reinsurance treaties and facultative arrangements, ensuring minimal risk transfer, analyzing reinsurance coverage needs, and protecting the company.


Job Description/Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  •  Administer and manage the company’s reinsurance treaties and facultative placements.

  • Support the design, negotiation, and renewal of reinsurance programs to optimize risk exposure and capital efficiency.

  • Prepare and analyze reinsurance underwriting data, reports, and documentation.

  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of reinsurance transactions in compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Coordinate with reinsurers, brokers, and internal departments to facilitate smooth reinsurance operations.

  • Monitor claims recoveries under reinsurance contracts and maintain accurate reconciliations.

  • Respond to queries and requests from reinsurers in a timely manner.

  • Ensure all reinsurance agreements comply with local and international regulations, industry standards and company policies

  • Collaborate closely with underwriting and finance to gather data and ensure accurate reporting of reinsurance transactions

Academic & Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in insurance, Actuarial Science, Economics & Management

  • Professional qualifications (e.g., CII, CIIG, or equivalent) will be an added advantage

  • Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in reinsurance or underwriting within the general insurance industry.
