Finance Officer

Job Summary

To assist the Head of Finance in all financial aspects of the Institute and to assist in managing the budget, prepare financial reports, and ensure that all financial transactions are conducted legally and ethically.

  • Minimum Qualification : Degree

  • Experience Level : Mid level

  • Experience Length : 5 years


Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Assist to develop and maintain financial systems.

  • Helps to plan, direct, and control accounting and financial operations.

  • Assist in the preparation of reports and documents covering accounting transactions for management review.

  • Keeping accurate records of daily transactions, payments vouchers and bank transaction tracking sheet.

  • Prepares Bank Reconciliation Statement on a weekly basis.

  • Processing payment vouchers into the accounting software.

  • Ensure that all payment vouchers are filed serially

  • Ensures that accurate records are kept by standard practices.

  • Assists in establishing budgets, forecast future cash flows, provide periodic financial analysis

  • Assist in monitoring budget performance, expenditure control

  • Manage invoicing procedures.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a First Degree in Accounting/Finance with five (5) years’ experience.

  • Competencies

  • Meticulous

  • Team player

  • Ability to work with little or no supervision

  • Excellent communication skills
