Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Telemedicine Healthcare Assistant to support remote clinical operations and enhance virtual care delivery. This role involves managing patient interactions, supporting healthcare providers during virtual consultations, and ensuring accurate documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Ideal Candidate:
You are a certified medical assistant with experience in telehealth or clinical support roles. You’re tech-savvy, organized, and possess excellent communication skills, with a strong grasp of HIPAA and virtual healthcare protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate and support virtual patient consultations by preparing records, verifying patient data, and ensuring all systems are functioning prior to sessions
Document patient histories, symptoms, and vital information accurately within EHR systems under provider supervision
Coordinate telemedicine appointments, follow-ups, and reminders, ensuring efficient scheduling and minimal disruptions
Assist healthcare providers during live virtual consultations with technical setup, documentation, and patient engagement
Manage patient communications, including responding to inquiries, sending health education materials, and clarifying appointment logistics
Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations (e.g., HIPAA) in all telehealth activities
Escalate clinical concerns to appropriate providers and support teams when necessary
Participate in team meetings and contribute to the improvement of telehealth service delivery processes
Skill Sets Required / Preferred
Education: Certificate or Associate Degree in Medical Assisting, Nursing, or a related healthcare field
Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred
Experience:
Prior experience in a telemedicine or remote healthcare support role
Familiarity with healthcare regulations including HIPAA
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in electronic health record systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth, Kareo)
Experience with telehealth platforms and remote collaboration tools (Zoom for Healthcare, Doxy.me, etc.)
Comfortable with troubleshooting basic tech issues and assisting patients in using virtual platforms
Soft Skills:
Exceptional verbal and written communication
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Empathy and patience in dealing with diverse patient populations
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with remote healthcare teams
